Scratch

Produced as a school project in my third year as a Film Production Major at York, Scratch tells the story of a college hockey star coming to terms with a career-ending injury in spite of pressure to continue playing from his friends and coaches.

I served as the writer and director of this project, working to coordinate a team of over 30 other film students and professional ACTRA actors to bring the vision to life. The film was shot over a period of 5 days.

The aspect of this production I am most proud of was the culture our team created for the fictional university. We needed to design the jerseys, spirit wear, and promotional gear to develop the character of the school. The dressing room where the key scenes take place was built entirely on a sound stage and incorporated graphics meant to reflect the team’s long history.

The film was nominated for the York Film Department’s annual film awards, Cinesiege.
